GoPro Camera: I Gotta Have It!
I have to get this camera. It’s the GoPro Video Camera and it comes with various helmet mounts, a body mount and – the one I’d use – a handlebar mount.
I think it does audio, too. It shoots in HD and seems like a great way to share our training rides and make some fun video.
Here, take a look at this awesome video shot with it:
Bike Repair Tools
Once you get into biking, you’re going to realize that you need to develop some mechanical skills.
Not a lot, but some.
Things break. Fall off. Get out of adjustment. Tires go flat. Chains break.
How do you fix it?
Better yet, what tools do you need?
Tina Laurie gives us a demonstration on what to carry on your bike so you are always prepared.

The Bicycling Ambassador of Paint Creek Trail
One of the most popular training routes for cyclists in Southeastern Michigan is the Paint Creek Trail, which runs about 9 miles between Rochester and Lake Orion on an old railway route, On the north end, it’s an easy detour to connect to the Polly Ann Trail. It hooks up with the Clinton River Trail and then the Macomb Orchard Trail on the southern end and easily can be used for long 50-mile plus training rides.
If you’ve ridden Paint Creek Trail, chances are you’ve passed David Moultrie in his bright yellow “Trail Staff T-Shirt.” Moultrie serves serves as a bicycling ambassador on Michigan’s beautiful Paint Creek Trail.
I thought you might like to meet him:
Training for the Michigander
The Michigander is something almost any bicycle rider can do.
But it down take some preparation. Getting in shape and increasing stamina and endurance is done primarily through what’s known as saddle time, or putting in the hours pedaling that bike. That normally means one long ride every week and several shorter ones. By short we mean working up to at least an hour and by long we mean at least two and, as the date for the tour approaches, four or five hours.
Here’s Tina Laurie with some tips:
