Memorial Day Ride

First it rains every day and is so cold it spits snow on early morning rides through mid-May and now, like someone turned the switch, it’s suddenly 90 degrees.

Not that I can complain.

Well, I could but, seriously, I’ll take the heat and humidity over what we have had so far this season.

Clinton River Trail over I-75

I had planned to ride Stony Creek and the Macomb Orchard Trail on my road bike but found the rear tire flat in the garage. I didn’t feel like changing it so set off from home on the Gary Fisher Superfly.

Rode a nice 30-miler today, taking the Paint Creek Trail from my home near Adams and Orion to the Clinton River Trail in Rochester, and then west till it becomes a mess on the Pontiac outskirts.

I rode alone. Most of by normal ride buddies were elsewhere.

Got home and did some yard work till the sweat made it too uncomfortable. So I cam in and ordered one of these.

I’ve been thinking about it all year and finally gave in, deciding that I enjoy making videos too much not to have it. Even forked over an extra $30 to get it in two days. I got the helmet mount and the handlebar mount so I can have it with me on all my bikes.

After that, found a spot in the shade with the iPad on the back deck and started looking through the Michigander photos on the Michigan Trails and Greenways Facebook Page. I entered three of them for their photo contest. You have to click “Like” on their page and then on the Photo Contest album, put your mouse over the photos until you see my name, If you like them, click “Like” again.

Here’s a couple more pics from today’s ride.
